Why do CTN swaps involve converting to WCTN?#
Swaps on the Centurion Protocol can start and end with CTN, but depending on the version of the protocol the swap uses, CTN may need to be wrapped into WCTN during the swap.
This is because tokens must follow the CRC-20 standard to be swappable on the Centurion Protocol, and native CTN predates that standard. WCTN is the CRC-20 version of CTN, so it can be swapped against other CRC-20 tokens.
As a result, CTN can be swapped on the Centurion Protocol, but it is wrapped into WCTN during the swap and can be unwrapped back to CTN afterward. Network costs remain payable in native CTN.
