What is swap protection?#
Swap protection helps defend your Centurion swaps from front-running and sandwich attacks.
A sandwich attack is when someone sees your pending swap in the public mempool and places their own trades immediately before and after it to profit at your expense. When swap protection is on, your swap is sent through a private transaction pool instead of the public mempool, so it is not visible to be front-run in this way.
If you are swapping a fee-on-transfer token routed through Centurion v2 pools, swap protection also makes the swap more likely to go through with a reduced chance of failure.
Swap protection is turned on automatically for Centurion swaps. You can turn it on or off in Swap settings, and you can always adjust slippage manually.
